It is perfectly fine to need a service that is not quite translation or tutoring. Just to give some examples, I helped with:
editing, proofreading, formatting & reviewing of academic manuscripts concerning pre-modern Chinese sources
compiling bibliography or bibliographical entries for Chinese sources
navigating specialised databases of ancient texts and analysing search results
aligning segments of a classical Chinese text with the corresponding segments in its 17th-century French translation
putting two sets of 18th-century exported Chinese screen panels in order based on the inscriptions on them
extracting and translating iconographically significant terms from paintings
punctuating and interpreting family genealogies
